Brunton TruArc20 Mirror Compass combines rugged durability with cutting-edge features. Whether you're an experienced hiker, geocacher, or expedition leader, this compass is built to handle the most challenging terrains.
The shell of the TruArc™ 20 is manufactured from HDPE plastic for durability and extra protection, whilst the compass and baseplate are made from durable clear scratch resistant acrylic. The TruArc™ global needle incorporates Ever-North™ rare earth magnets that do not lose polarity, and helps to eliminate magnetic interference. The liquid filled housing capsule increases the stability of the needle and has a tool-free adjustment for east or west declination settings to +/- 180°, allowing your compass to be used in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
The smooth rotating bezel has increment markings every 1 degree for very accurate readings, as well as a magnified readout to help in low light situations. The triple clinometer system gives fast and accurate gradient information, that is useful for avalanche safety and planning a descent/ascent. A luminous bubble level ensures you keep the compass flat, as well as a magnifier for close map work. The protected sighting mirror contains a centre line, a top notch and a base hole for taking accurate sighting bearings, and when closed, incorporates in to the TruArc™ 20 outer protective shell. Not only can the foot protector be removed for close map work, it also houses a range of field reference cards for mapping and emergency use.
