When travelling to countries that lack basic emergency first aid equipment it is always advised that you carry a well equipped travel first aid kit that contains sterile products in case emergency care is needed. Doctors will also advise you to take along any prescription medicines you require, and spread them across numerous bags if possible, in case of luggage loss or theft.
