With every passing day, more Ukrainian men, women, and children suffer through no fault of their own. Even if Russia stopped the war today, millions of Ukrainians will be without sufficient food warmth and shelter for the foreseeable future.
Having worked with disaster relief charities, we understand that time is of the essence. Getting monetary donations is the easy bit. Getting the right kit to the right place at the right time is the challenge. There is urgent need (amongst other items) for thermal underwear, hats, gloves, socks, and warm jackets for all ages and genders.
Sub Zero Technology Ltd has donated over £70,000 of cold weather clothing to local Ukrainian charities and humanitarian aid groups since the start of the war. Through our Ukrainian Appeal, our generous customers have donated a further £12,000 of gear.
We are now in a position to help Ukrainians further by partnering with the charity Be an Angel. This registered humanitarian aid organisation has evacuated over 18,000 refugees from Ukraine via Moldova, including many seriously ill children and elderly. They have also distributed over 3,800 tons of humanitarian aid to the most affected areas of Ukraine.
If you can help, then please visit our Ukrainian Appeal product page where you can buy essential cold weather clothing at cost price or below (this is the price it costs us to produce the garment without any profit added) that we will donate to the charity.
All you need to do is add them to your shopping cart and checkout. If you are just buying products to donate then please choose the 'Pick Up' delivery method. This will eliminate any shipping charges. If you are buying these appeal products as part of a larger order for yourselves, then the donation products are zero weighted and won't contribute to your delivery charges. We will remove them during the shipping stage and store them separately.
All donations will then be consolidated in shipping containers and delivered to Be an Angels warehouse in the Ukrainian city of Lviv for redistribution or sent via Leicesters Ukranian Social Club Kalyna.
FAQ's
Is VAT charged on these items?
We have to charge VAT at 20% on all items except childrens clothing. This rule is the same for charities. Our system will automatically work this out. We have also made note of the VAT rate in each individual product listing.
Why are there no real product shots on the Ukrainian Collection page?
There are two main reasons for this. Firstly, we are including some of our non-stock lines in the appeal, whether already manufactured or being produced from fabric stock. These are not photographed as they are constantly evolving depending on our customers needs. Secondly, we are after all a business, and some of these products are commercially sensitive.
I cannot find any sizing or colour choices on the donation products?
We have not listed these options as we are going to be guided by the charities needs. We don't want to be in a situation whereby sizes and colours are donated that nobody can use.
Can I add these products to an order for myself?
You can add our normal stock and appeal stock in to the same order. When we come to ship your order we will not add the appeal stock to the parcel. We will hold this separate and bulk to up with other donations.
